Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement that the Big Game was returning to TV screens this year PartyPoker has upped the ante with the news that the Premier League will return for its sixth renewal this spring.
Open Face Chinese Poker sees players put together three hands (3 cards in front, 5 in the middle and 5 in the back), each subject to certain rules, to compete against each other. Razz Poker Razz plays a lot like 7-Card Stud except, unlike in most forms of poker, the aim of the game is to put together the lowest hand possible. The $125,000 buy in event is set to run from March 17 to 23 at London’s swish Aspers Casino at Westfield Stratford City. Sixteen of the world’s top pros will be invited to take part in the event which will be filmed for TV broadcast later in the year.
The Premier League’s unique structure sees the 16 players split into two groups of eight. Each player plays four league matches to earn points worth $2,000 per point with the top three from each group progressing to the final table and fourth and fifth place in each group playing heads up for the final two spots.

Aspers will also host the £1,500 buy in re-entry World Poker Tour National London from March 15 to 19.
